Hello Parents & Students!

Welcome back. I hope everyone was able to have an enjoyable relaxing break last week. We will jump right back into our usual routine this week working on words that end in "-ed" and "-en" along with new sight words: out and who. We will continue to talk about our Language Arts theme of "In the Neighborhood." In math, we will continue to talk about money and you may start to hear your child asking if they can count the coins for you at home!!

We have some very fun events coming up this week too. Molly Erdahl will be coming in on Wed. morning to teach us our last lesson for our Adventures in Art series and in the afternoon we will be heading to the Lowry Nature Center to learn about Maple Syruping - which goes along perfectly with our year-long tree unit in science. Please make sure your child comes dressed for the weather as the majority of our field trip is outside. Thanks!

Monday, please look for your child's picture order form in their backpack. If you would like your child to take a spring picture, then you must send back the order form by Friday (March 26th). If your child does not have an order form, their picture will not be taken (this is different than in the fall).

Have a great week!!

Lowry Nature Center

Maple Syruping is a great way to learn more about the natural process a tree goes through to produce the sweet sauce that many of us associate with making our pancakes and waffles extra tasty.
On, Wednesday, we had the privledge of having a Naturalist escort us through the woods to find a Maple tree and tap it.
To see more of what we were doing, please check out the story and video at Kare11.com
