This week was full of celebration! Dominic was our Star of the Week, so we were sure to celebrate him everyday. We worked on learning the letter Jj, the sound it makes and how to write it. We have also been working on some projects to help us get ready for Halloween!.. you may have heard about the black cats. This year we have already introduced and starting using five different sight words, they include I, a, to, see and this week we learned the.
The biggest event this past week was on Friday - our BLUE RIBBON DAY!!! Yes, our school has received the highest award possible and has been named one of our nation's Blue Ribbon Schools in the year of 2008!
On Friday we celebrated the students and let them know how much their hard work is appreciated! We have also been talking about each students' hopes and dreams in their lifetime. We started off the day putting on our blue tie-dye t-shirts and then headed to an assembly lead by principal Ann Swanson. She shared her experience of receiving the Blue Ribbon Award on behalf of our school out in Washington D.C. We then continued our celebration with getting our hair spray painted blue!!!
We continued our celebration with blue treats and relay games. I was all set to take pictures and then the battery died on my camera, so I apologize, but hope to find some pictures from some other teachers to add to this blog at a later date. (I finally found some pictures!!! ~ Enjoy!)
A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to all of the wonderful parents who helped make this day possible. We could not have pulled it off without you!!

Hello and Welcome!
Hello! And welcome to my Kindergarten Blog! I was intrigued by the opportunities that my co-worker was able to do with her blog, so I thought I would try one out too. My hope is to create a place where parents, extended family and friends can go to see what is going on in our classroom throughout the year! Please feel free to post comments and let me know how you like it.
And, p.s. thanks Mrs. Schneider for letting me copy your idea! :-)
