Schedule for the Weeks of Dec. 6-10 & Dec. 13-17

Hello! The next couple of weeks will be busy as we have some holiday fun and take a little break from our regular curriculum. Last Friday you received the last green homework sheet (Lesson 10) until after the winter break. I am also very proud to announce that the students filled the cotton ball jar which meant they earned their first movie and popcorn party!! We had our party last Friday and watched Toy Story 3 with options of regular, cheese or caramel popcorn.

This week we will be reviewing letters and vocabulary we have learned in the last couple of weeks. We will also be learning two new word families which will help build our rhyming and reading skills. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we will be talking about the things we are thankful for and why Thanksgiving was first started.
I apologize, I forgot to send home the homework sheet in last week's Friday Folder. I will stick it in their backpack today, and feel free to return it next week sometime.

This week we will be focusing on learning phonograms: -am, and -at instead of a new letter of the week. We will also use our prior knowledge of rhyming and letter sounds to help us learn to blend sounds together to create words.

We will continue to be working on writing numbers 0-10 correctly in Chapter 3 in Math. We will be starting a new chapter in Social Studies which focuses on our families.

This week, the Book Fair is going on in the Media Center. We will not be checking out new library books for the week, but your child will get a chance to make a wish list for the books that they may want to buy. Please feel free to stop in throughout the week to check-out the wonderful books at great prices!

Hello Families!
We have a very busy couple of weeks ahead. Hopefully you all got your Conference slip reminder a week ago. If you have any questions regarding your conference day/time, please feel free to contact me. I'm looking forward to meeting with all of you in the next couple of weeks. This week the students will be getting very, very excited for our Halloween celebration. There are some parents planning our class party which I know will be a great success.
