Schedule for the Week of Dec. 17-21

This is our last week before our nice long break. We will be using our "Passports" to travel around the world and find out how people in different countries celebrate different holidays this week. Here are some other things we will be doing this week too! .......

 Reading/Writing for the Week:
  • Phonological Awareness: final sounds in words
  • Sight Words: Review of Sight Words we've learned so far: here, this, come, he, like, to, go, can, the, my, a, I
  • Writing about the different cultures and customs we learn from our "Holidays Around the World" Unit of study
  • Work on drawing conclusions and rereading the story to comprehend the story
Math:
  • Unit 3: 
    • 3.6: 
      •  Objectives: Find partners of numbers 2 through 6; Write numerals in a repeating pattern; Show teen numbers as a group of ten and extra ones
      • Vocabulary: pattern, teen number, switch the partners
    • 3.7: 
      •  Objectives: Establish links between math and the real world; Tell addition and subtraction stories; Sole story problems; Draw numbers 6 through 10 as 5-groups
      • Vocabulary: calculator, 5-group

Schedule for the Week of Dec. 10-14

Hello!

Wow, only two weeks until winter break! Where is the time going?!?! I can't believe how fast the time is flying by! I hope this finds you, your family and friends able to sit back, let the busyness pause for a moment and enjoy the special moments this time of year brings along with the little things in life.
In our week ahead we have a lot to accomplish, yet these students surprise me daily with how smart they are!! They are such hard workers too, I am continually impressed!
