Math: We will be finishing Chp. 6, which concentrates on numbers 0-30. If you are looking for extra activities to do at home for extra practice with learning these numbers, try playing Go Fish with cards numbered 0-30 or play Memory with two sets of cards 0-30. Try putting the number cards in order from 0-30 or see who can put them in order the fastest, you or your child?! Have fun!

Star of the Week: Sophia

This will be a fast and busy week. The students filled the cotton ball jar to the top, they have been working on it all year!! Which means they earned their popcorn and movie party. They have voted to watch the movie "Wall-E" and I will provide the popcorn. We will be celebrating their achievement and watching the movie on Tues. We will also be going on our field trip this Thurs. to see the play "Snowy Day" based on the book by Ezra Jack Keats. This is a wonderful story and in addition to seeing the play, we will be reading the book and doing some activities that go along with it throughout the week.
In our short week we will fit in our reading centers for three of the days, continue working on numbers 0-30 along with learning the short "Oo" sound and how to write the letter.
A BIG thank you to those who sent in extra snacks!! We really appreciate it!

Friday, Feb. 13th: Art & our Valentine's Party from 2-3pm - parents if you would like to come to our party and help out, you are more than welcome!!

Just a Few Reminders:

• This Friday, February 13th, if your child brings in a dollar for Pennies for Patients, they will receive two heart shaped cookies donated by our neighborhood Jubilee.
  
• Please send in one or more bags of bulk candy (the kind you can buy at Target: Tootsie Rolls, Starburst, etc.) so we can do a VERY FUN project at our Valentine's Party.
  
• Next Monday, February 16th there is No School in honor of President's Day.
  
• We will be celebrating the 100th Day of Kindergarten on Friday, February 20th, so please help remind your child to bring in their Ziploc bag full of "100 Things"
