With Valentine's Day falling on a Sunday and because we have Monday, Feb. 15th off for President's Day, we will be having our Valentine's Day Class party on Friday afternoon. Thank you to everyone for sending in bags of candy for one of our party activities, the kids keep asking "what is all of that candy for??" .... We are ready to begin a 5-day week! Last week was fun - the students loved the play, The Snowy Day, at STAGES theater. They did such a good job at sitting in their seats and being a good audience. I hope your children enjoyed the 3-day weekend!
This week we have some more exciting things to come. We are starting a new theme in Language Arts called "Let's Play!" - we will be focusing on learning new letters, sight words and reading some new stories.

Mrs. Beuscher will also be introducing us to our first lesson in "Adventures in Art" - this is a program sponsored by the PTA which exposes our students to pieces of art that are currently being shown at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. This is a program where parents volunteer their time teaching the students about different art pieces and the artists, then the students will get to make an art project of their own.

Let's have a wonderful week!
