End of the School Year 2011-12!!

Wow! I can't believe it is already that time of year! Things are coming down from the walls, students are blossoming into amazing writers and readers and the warm sun is beating down on us and making our classroom mighty warm!

It has been a fabulous kindergarten year! I have seen so much growth since our first day together back in September. They are definitely ready for the next chapter.... FIRST GRADE!

We will be doing a lot of REVIEW this week in Literacy, including our vocabulary, sight words and handwriting. In math we will continue to practice learning subtraction. Let's have a wonderful week!

Math: Starting to learn about subtraction!

Literacy: Working on our theme "On the Go!" Working on Word Building using vowels a, e, i, o, & u. Reading stories A Mouse Told His Mother, Igor: The Board Who Couldn't Sing and The Three Little Pigs. While reading stories we will be determining if they are a realistic story or fantasy! For writing we will be working on writing personal narratives and writing fluent sentences.

Math: Continuing to work on addition

Literacy: We are starting a new theme this week called "On The GO!" and we will be talking about many different forms of transportation in the next 3 weeks - should be lots of fun! We are also talking about how to write an invitation!!
