Language Arts Home Practice Lesson 3.3 (Will come home on Friday, December 18 in Friday Folders. We send home the practice sheets after we have worked on the content in class.)

Centers this week include:
Read to Self: students pick out a letter or sight word book to work on reading letter sounds, basic sight words, basic CVC words, and even some basic sentences. Students choose books from their personalized book bags. Students read books based on their specific reading level, although some books are slightly above and some are slightly below.
iPad Read to Self/Read to Others: students use Raz Kids to listen to a story, read a story, and answer comprehensive questions about the story. Students can also read a story with their partner or on their own.
Word Work: students can choose to play a variety of sight word games, work on creating CVC words, letter recognition, rhyming, play CVC word memory, or play the very popular iPad app, Sky Fish (it's free and good!)
Work on Writing: Students will work on writing the letter Tt. They will circle their best work. When finished, students will practice writing words that start with Mm, Ss, and Tt
Listen To Reading: students will listen to (and follow along/track with their fingers) the story The Little School Bus. Then they will put the story into sequence order.
Creation Station: students will be given a variety of materials and can create anything they want with them. Let the creativity FLOW!!

Holidays Around the World (December 16, 17, 18, 21)
We have such an exciting week ahead of us! Your Kindergartener will get to "travel" to all sorts of countries (other Kindergarten classrooms) to learn about winter holidays that are celebrated all around the world. They will get the opportunity to learn about Germany, Holland, Sweden, Japan, Mexico, England, Israel, and the United States. Every student will be issued their very own "Kindergarten passport" and will complete many different art projects that they will share with you at the end of the week. Fun!
