Monday is Martin Luther King Day! This year K-2 will be making a "Dream Quilt". The students will learn about Martin Luther King and that he had a dream for our country to work together. The students will draw a picture of what they dream of being when they grow up and then we will put all the pieces together to make a whole quilt. The purpose of this lesson is to have the students learn that they are part of a whole. Helping each other achieve their dream benefits everyone! Last week we also did an activity about the Crayon Box, feel free to ask your child, "How do all the colors of the crayon box work together?"
